Toro Power Shovel
This product was purchased for my 82 yr. old mother who has back problems and can't shovel snow. Living in Indiana shoveling snow is a part of the winter season. She has used the shovel several times since receiving it and has only good things to say about it. She is most impressed with the ease of use and the thorough cleaning the shovel does and that she does not have to lift and toss the snow after it is on the shovel as in past years. We would recommend this Toro Power Shovel to anyone with back problems and a willingness to shovel when there is not more than 2" on the walk.

Handy little thrower
Ready to go out of the box. The unit can be a bit misleading with how to properly operate it. From the primary picture here at amazon (look at the second picture, this is the position in which the unit should be operated) and the lack of a picture in the owners manual, you can easily (as I experienced) have the unit upside down when trying to operate it. If you do this, you'll experience what the 1 star review says happened to them. Snow everywhere. Once I figured that out and flipped the unit right side up, this little thrower has plenty of power and chews right through the snow on my deck. It doesn't appear to scratch the deck either. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Time saver, back saver
This great tool reduced the time it takes to clear our deck after a heavy snow from 1 1/2 hour to 10 minutes. Wonderful time saver and especially wonderful for elderly who have decreased endurance.

Great little machine!
I recently purchased the Toro Snow Shovel/Broom and I think it is great! I don't have to mix oil and gas or worry about having gaoline on hand because it is electic. It cleared about 4" of snow right down to the pavement. Even works on the icy mix, just be careful when using it on ice because it shoots 20-30' in the air and could land on a neighbors car or yard or something else. I cleared my driveway with it and am very pleased with the performance. The safety feature on the handle is a little tiresome until you get used to it. Would be even better if it had a directional snow shoot. For those who say they got a face full of snow...try going in the opposite direction so that the wind is behind you. I believe it is well worth the money!:

I read other reviews and did research before purchasing this product. And I agree with the consensus. If you use it for what it was intended, it really works great.
I'm a veteran of over 50 Wisconsin winters, so I know a little bit about snow. For snow that is 6-8" deep or less, and that isn't of the wet, heavy variety, it cuts through quickly, and gets down to bare pavement easily.
If you need something for wet or deeper snow, get a snowblower. This is not advertised as a substitute for a snowblower. But for light to moderate snow it's fantastic.
I had to laugh. In one of the other reviews I read, a woman and her husband fight over who gets to use it. While I was using it the for first time, my wife asked if she could try it. She ended up finishing the driveway she was having so much fun with it.
As long as your expectations are reasonable, you'll love it. It's durable, works well and is reasonably priced. The performance exceeded what I expected.
